I stopped by a local store recently to pick up a few items that I had planned on buying (and those darn end cap “must-have” bargains) then proceeded to checkout.
There I realize that, not only do I have to scan items but, I have to decipher what category they fall into. Then I bag my items and last of all determine how to pay, without talking to a single employee.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s OK for me to do all the work – but I should have at least received a stipend discount. After all, the store has cut costs by having fewer employees. HMM.
